Food for New Families Coordinator

If you are interested in learning more about this position, please contact Nicole Leonard.

  • Organize the collection of frozen (or non-perishable) food items for families following the birth of a child or other significant event (hospitalization, etc.).
  • Find out the family's food preferences and whether they have any food allergies or sensitivities that we need to be aware of and share those preferences with the group.
  • Arrange for delivery of the food to the family.

Lovin' Moms' Night Out Party (LMNOP) Coordinator

  • Arrange LMNOP dates that meet the needs of most Cherished Children members. For example:
    • Once a month or twice a month
    • Weekdays or evenings
    • Locations that are free and/or paying
  • Enter LMNOP information on the Cherished Children Yahoo! Group calendar as soon as each event is scheduled. The following information should be included in the calendar entry:
    • Date
    • Time
    • Location
    • MapQuest link for the location (if you need help learning how to do this Brandy can teach you)
    • Specific instructions or notices such as: “hostess asks for all guests to remove shoes please”, “hostess has indoor pets (specify which ones)”, snacks or potluck, whether it's a dinner or activity that includes a fee, whether there is a theme such as “scrapbooking” or “birth movie night”, etc.
    • Select the “Reminder” option and set automatic reminders to go out to the Yahoo! Group 5 days and 2 days before the LMNOP is scheduled
  • Check email a few times daily during those two days before the upcoming LMNOP to answer any questions that might crop up in regards to the location, time, specific instructions, etc.
  • Monitor the turn out and talk to Brandy if you feel that any adjustments to the time, date, etc. need to be made.

Play Group Coordinator

  • Arrange Play Groups that meet the needs of most Cherished Children members. For example:
    • Morning and afternoon play dates
    • Indoor, outdoor play dates
    • Locations that are free and/or paying
  • Update Play Group information on the Cherished Children Yahoo! Group calendar as it becomes available. The following information should be included in the calendar entry:
    • Date
    • Time
    • Location
    • MapQuest link for the location (if you need help learning how to do this Brandy can teach you)
    • Specific instructions or notices such as: “hostess asks for all guests to remove shoes please”, “hostess has indoor pets (specify which ones)”, snacks or no snacks, activity that includes a fee or whether it is a free activity, etc.
    • Select the “Reminder” option and set automatic reminders to go out to the Yahoo! Group 5 days and 2 days before the Play Group is scheduled
  • Check email a few times daily during those last two days before the upcoming Play Group to answer any questions that might crop up in regards to the location, time, specific instructions, etc.
  • Monitor the turn out and talk to Brandy if you feel that any adjustments to the time, date, etc. need to be made.
  • Check and respond to emails an average of 1-2 hours per week.

Treasurer - Heather G.

  • Collect members' dues via mail, PayPal, and in person when available.
  • Collect all financial donations from all sources - members, Amazon, car donations, etc.
  • Make all bank deposits w/in a week after receipt.
  • Pay all bills (copying, child care, rent, etc.).
  • Maintain financial records as required by API and/or the IRS.
  • Balance checkbook monthly
  • Provide monthly financial accountings to the Advisory Committee.
  • Maintain record of members who are current and who have lapsed
  • Submit a record of paying members and non-paying members monthly to the Secretary.

    Social Activities Coordinator

    • Plan and coordinate Social Activities that meet the needs of most Cherished Children members
      • Include all family members
      • Quarterly or semi-annually dependent on the interest of members
      • Indoor and/or outdoor activities
      • Weeknight and/or weekend activities (so that all family members can attend) dependent on the needs of the members
      • Locations that are free and/or paying
    • Post an email to the Cherished Children Yahoo! Group and enter the Social Activity information to the calendar as soon as the event is scheduled. The following information should be included in the email and calendar entry:
      • Date
      • Time
      • Location
      • MapQuest link for the location (if you need help learning how to do this Brandy can teach you)
      • Specific instructions or notices such as: “hostess asks for all guests to remove shoes please”, “hostess has indoor pets (specify which ones)”, snacks or no snacks, whether it's a potluck or a dinner, if it's an activity that includes a fee or whether it is a free activity, etc.
      • For the calendar post only: Select the “Reminder” option and set automatic reminders to go out to the Yahoo! Group five days and two days before the Social Activity is scheduled
    • Check email a few times daily during the two days before the upcoming activity to answer any questions that might crop up in regards to the location, time, specific instructions, etc.
    • Monitor the turn out and talk to Brandy if you feel that any adjustments to the time, date, etc. need to be made.

     

    Sling/Carrier Librarian - Nicole Leonard

    • Solicit slings/carriers from local businesses, Internet businesses, etc. using a form letter already created by the Advisory Committee.
    • Create check out forms, safety disclaimers, etc. for the Sling/Carrier Library and maintain existing forms.
    • Bring and set out Sling/Carrier Library materials (i.e. forms, disclaimers, slings/carriers) to all meetings and other appropriate Cherished Children activities.
    • Collect non-member deposit and donations ($30.00 deposit and the non-paying member receives $25.00 back, thus donating $5.00) given to Cherished Children for the use of carrier materials and turn over to Heather Garvert, Cherished Children's Treasurer within a week of receipt.
    • Keep track of who has checked out materials from the Sling/Carrier Library and request return of materials which have been out past their one week due date.
    • Maintain a database of all library materials on the Yahoo! Group website.
    • Store all Sling/Carrier Library materials when they are not in use.
    • Provide updates to Heather Lacey at heather@cherishedchildrenapi.org as new carriers are added to the library so that she can update Cherished Children's website. Updates to include the type and size of carrier, link to the manufacturer's website, name of the company or person who made the donation, and the link to the donor's website (if applicable).

     

    Reading Librarian – Nicole B.

    • Solicit reading material from local businesses, Internet businesses, etc. using a form letter already created by the Advisory Committee.
    • Create check out forms, safety disclaimers, etc. for the library and maintain existing forms.
    • Bring and set Reading Library materials (i.e. forms, disclaimers, books, magazines, etc.) to all meetings and other appropriate Cherished Children activities.
    • Collect non-member deposit and donations ($15.00 deposit and the non-paying member receives $13.00 back, thus donating $2.00) given to Cherished Children for the use of library materials and turn over to Heather Garvert, Cherished Children's Treasurer within a week of receipt.
    • Collect donations given to Cherished Children for the use of library materials and turn over to Heather Garvert, Cherished Children's Treasurer.
    • Keep track of who has checked out materials from the Reading Library and request return of materials which have been out past their one month due date.
    • Maintain a database of all Reading Library materials on the Yahoo! Group website.
    • Store all Reading Library materials when they are not in use.
    • Provide updates to Heather Lacey as new materials are added to the library so that she can update Cherished Children's website. Updates to include the title, author, copyright date, and binding (paperback, hardback, spiral bound, etc.) of the book as well as the name of the company or person who made the donation and the link to the donor's website (if applicable).
